 KEEPNETS

Keepnets are allowed from June 1st to the last day of February each year from dawn till dusk, and must be emptied regularly whilst pleasure fishing. Carp over 2lb must not be kept in keepnets whilst pleasure fishing.

This will allow the fish time to spawn during the spring. Nets must be emptied regularly as the welfare of the fish is paramount.

New Angling Centre

We are pleased to inform our members and visitors, that a new Angling Centre has just opened.

Mikes Angling Centre, based at Queens Avenue, Widnes, is now open for business, and we wish him every success.

Mike is very involed with Clincton Anglers, and has done a lot of work at the waters over the last twelve months.

This new angling centre will provide everything you need for your days, or weeks, fishing.

It will also be more convienient not only for club members, but to people from outside the area because of its easy location. See our membership section for details and map.

I'm sure that all of our members will support Mike in his new venture.

New Fish Delivered for Clincton Pool.

Small carpWe are proud to announce the delivery of new fish for the Clincton Pool have now been delivered. Delivery took place on Sunday 29th April.

Committee and members helped with the transfer of the fish from the delivery lorry to the Clincton pool , after their journey from the suppliers in the South of England.

There was a estimated total of 250 to 270lb of mixed carp, with an average weight of around half a pound each, with some being around 1lb in weight.

The fish that have been supplied should help to bring some life into the Clincton Pool and should help to bring the other fish on to feed. The idea is to look at exchanging these fish when they get to around 5 to 7lb for more smaller ones, and keep the exchange as a going concern. We Will monitor how the Clinc fishes over the next few months and see if we need to buy more fish for next year.

Hope you all enjoy the new fish!
